We weren't looking for a lot...we wanted to complete a room with the hardwood we used before so the look will flow through the entire downstairs. I think I spent at least 5 months looking locally for the same wood before finding A to Z.

Since he was in Philadelphia and we were in California, I thought it would be hard to actually make it work...but through email communication and pictures being sent back and forth...and Alex's patience, we did and the flooring match was just beautiful!

I gave Alex a call that day, thinking it would be way over my budget, but it wasn't.
Alex met me that day at his showroom, and after listening to my needs, gave me a number of options which fitted. It was clear that Alex is both passionate about wood and very knowledgable. He is also is able to obtain a high quality product. In my case I purchased Royal Mahogany (Andiroba) flooring, in a much longer plank size than I had seen anywhere else. I also ended up purchasing matching stair tread planks from Alex, again at a very fair price.

  I would recommend Alex for any wood project you need. After we installed new oak flooring in our kitchen on our own, we realized we needed a custom wood piece... read more to transition between the new, raised kitchen flooring, and the existing, lower dining room flooring. We needed a thick wood saddle with eased, smooth edges on the lower end and a lip on the higher side to bridge the gap between both floors. We also wanted a material that would transition well. I sketched out a custom profile for Alex, and he recommended using an unfinished piece of white oak, which I could stain to my liking. Not only does it look fantastic, but it's also incredibly sturdy!

Alex truly knows his products, was honest about manufacturing timing, and provided really competitive pricing. Great personality, down to earth guy, and a local craftsman. I will definitely be a repeat customer!
